Living Waters Wellness Resources This is our "library" of articles we've gathered and written for our Living Waters Wellness website, in the course of many years. Welcome, and happy browsing ! If you've haven't read many of these these articles yet, you may wonder : what do you we mean by "living water" ? What's the thread that holds these very varied themes and articles together ? |
In short, it began with a passage in the Bible that stuck in my mind - actually, for quite a long time. You can get an idea how this developed in me on our page "Conversation with a Young Friend". I hope you'll check it out !
Briefly, though, the term has to do with healing

What Needs Healing ?
As health professionals our work has never been just a job, but rather a vocation - "a calling for healing". And if you think that way, after awhile you realize : healing is a very large subject. It includes the body of course, but it it also concerns the soul - our emotions, our thoughts and how we do things, our actions, habits etc. It has a social dimension, as important as any other aspect of healing. And it also concerns our relationship with our greater environment - with our earth, our universe, with "a power greater than ourself", or God.
What Heals ?
Another large question, seriously worth considering. Surely substances and remedies are part of it. But again : what truly heals the soul ? Our social relationships ? Our relationship with the earth or with God ? Here's a "big picture" perspective we've arrived at - see that you think !
What heals us as human being are those things that are good, are beautiful and are true, and that for whatever reason we need - and don't yet have. This will again of course include substances and remedies that have goodness, beauty, truth woven into them by nature or by God. But it will also require that we go through certain experiences and processes, arrive at new insights, improve or develop certain relationships. Because we're human beings, for each of us there will also be certain ideas and thoughts we find relationship to, and that are healing for us. Collectively we think of these these many factors as "living water" ; flowing through and nourishing all manifestations of life, from the humblest processes in the body to the highest realms of spirit
Why "Living Waters Wellness" ?
In the course of our lives, personal and professional, we've received much of this "living water", and can only be grateful. At the end of long careers our time to share this with individual patients may be
winding down - but we still know what and where it is. And we can still share it actively as thoughts and ideas. Living Waters Wellness is the place where we do this, and we're passionately committed to it.
To bring our impulse to fruition we continue to work hard - we have many articles in progress right now, and we'll never run out of ideas to share.
We Need Your Help .....
It's not much considered in our society, but the healing arts are not a "business", and don't actually belong to the realm of economic life. But people who work in these realms do need to live. In the spirit of "living water", we try to meet this need in as clean and creative a way as we can. Please look at the bottom of this page - and at the bottom of any of our pages - for ways you can easily help us continue our work on Living Waters Wellness - in ways that also benefit you. Explore, respond to or share our Living Waters Wellness content any time you like. Buy products you want or need, only when you want or need them !
